Certsy aims to process and lodge your police check within 1-2 business days, providing there are no issues with your application. To avoid necessary delays, ensure your details are up to date and the images of your documentation are clear and readable. We generally recommend that applicants allow as much time as possible for the processing of a police check.
Once lodged with the NPCS, around 70% of checks are returned to Certsy immediately. If your name matches one that exists on the central index of names with historical police information, your check will be forwarded to the relevant state police agency, which will investigate the name match and determine whether any relevant historical police information should be released.
When a name match occurs there will be a delay in receiving your result, so Certsy will notify you straight away and keep you updated with the process of your check. For around 25% of checks, this process can take up to 10 business days, while 5% of checks may take up to 15 business days.
During periods of high volume, there may be an additional delay in police agencies processing Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Checks.
