When applying for a police check, you will be required to outline whether or not the work for which you require the police check will involve direct or indirect contact with vulnerable groups (children, the disabled or elderly people), and whether this will be supervised or unsupervised contact.
Direct or indirect contact?
If the work for which you require a police check will not involve either direct or indirect contact with vulnerable groups, you will answer NO when prompted in your application.
Supervised or unsupervised contact?
If the work for which you require a police check will involve direct or indirect contact with vulnerable groups, you will have to determine whether this contact will be supervised or unsupervised.
If the work for which you require a police check will involve direct and indirect contact with vulnerable groups, but this will always be in the presence of an adult who is responsible for the safety and care of the vulnerable person, you will answer YES - SUPERVISED, when prompted in your application.
If the work for which you require a police check will involve direct and indirect contact with vulnerable groups, but will not be in the presence of an adult who is responsible for the safety and care of the vulnerable person, you will answer YES - UNSUPERVISED, when prompted in your application.
