What is passwordless authentication and how does it work?
Passwordless authentication is a type of account authentication that removes the need for an account password.
Upon signing-up to Certsy, and on every subsequent sign-in, you will not be prompted to provide a password. Instead, Certsy will send you a unique access code via email each time. You will be prompted to enter the unique access code and upon doing so, you will be instantly logged into your account.
Why does Certsy use passwordless authentication?
At Certsy, we take your privacy and data security very seriously. Our platform is purpose-built for secure verification, with robust and well-supported modern technologies and automated security controls and processes. As it is increasingly common for people to use the same password for many accounts, a simple data breach such as the Yahoo Data Breach or LinkedIn Data Breach could mean hackers have access to more than just one of your personal accounts. Passwordless authentication enables Certsy to increase account security by removing the need for a password; reducing the risk of a password being hacked, and therefore lessening the risk your personal information could be compromised.
As a user-focused platform, Certsy also cares about ensuring that we are regularly enhancing the user experience. We want to ensure your experience in setting up a Certsy account and signing into your account is as pain-free and as fast as possible. In removing the need for a password, Certsy makes it easier for you to sign up and sign-in without hassle, eliminating the need to set security questions, or remember another password!
